The Express is a University of Wisconsin-Richland student-run and funded online newspaper produced by COM 104 students. Through written stories and multimedia, the Express has a vision to keep users informed about current events within the university and the community to provide students, faculty, staff and other members a venue for expression and learning through wide use of methods in a changing journalism world.
Code of Ethics
Even though the Express is a student publication that is connected to Com 104, the Express will follow the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics found here: http://www.spj.org/ethicscode.asp.

The Express is the student newspaper of the University of Wisconsin-Richland. The newspaper is connected to the university through COM 104, Applied Journalism and is funded through segregated fees and advertising revenue. It is published under an agreement with College Publishers. The opinions in articles in the Express are of the students and are not to be affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Richland or the UW Colleges. Students who participate in the Express are enrolled in COM 104. Staff can be reached through the About Us tab on the Home page.

Structure of course/publication
The advisor is the course instructor and is responsible for the publication of the student media and the structure of the course.
